#6: Jupiter
Expansion, possibility, fortune
Jupiter is often a welcome sight, emerging from the darkness, shimmering with possibilities. It is the planet of growth, expansion, success, and elevation.
When this card appears, the future is bright and full, perhaps even dazzling. Everyone wants to be around Jupitarian energy (and to claim a little for themselves), so there is likely a magnetic feeling at play.
The Work is to keep Jupiter’s bigness in balancing during the wave of expansion that’s taking place. Its shadow is most easily seen in celebrity culture, excess consumption, and messaging of “never enough.” You may begin comparing yourself to others or assessing your value.
Don’t double judge yourself for this. Jupiter happens. Instead, realign with the benevolent message in your heart. What truly needs expanding? It’s likely not your followers or your bank account.

#17: Spring
Blossoming, becoming, the horizon
When Spring arrives, our eyes lift from The Work and we peer out the window of our Laboratory. We realize Earth has been in its own transformation spin, reading itself for a new era of growth. In a state of wonder, the Alchemist sets aside the Work of Winter and opens the doors, stepping into Spring.
When this card arrives, it indicates a blossoming, a coming into one’s own. It’s generation time. You may be dreaming up a business plan, humming a new melody, or flirting with a special someone. Spring is the season of the East, where the sun rises and lights the world.
You do not have to work on anything during this phase — let the energy of the season push through. You made it through Winter, and the bulbs burst on their own.

To ponder: The flower within the bud.
Buds and grasses push up and out during Spring. The season has a driving momentum to it, so keep an eye out for impatience, anger, or pushiness.
Spring has a “what’s next?” quality to it. Sit in stillness and envision the horizon. Sit with the image until its shifts and you see something coming your way.

#44: The New Pearl
Grit, irritation, waiting
The New Pearl is one of the great promises of Alchemy. From a single grain of sand, the pearl forms slowly but surely in the salty mouth of the oyster. The New Pearl emerges as an alchemical miracle, a sight unimaginable at the outset.
That said, the process is generated from irritation itself. Such is the medicine of the New Pearl card. The Work is underway, but the gem has not yet formed.
Don’t become petty and hasty, seeking a return on your efforts. Rather, turn to patience, consistency, and humility to remedy the discomfort. Let the magic of time and salt water do its work.
Relax, believe, and support a fellow Alchemist in finding the grit that will become their pearl. Don’t worry about you right now; the entire ocean is your ally.
